10 YO Sammy Teusch from Indiana Killed Himself After Relentless Bullying At School

A 10-year-old boy, Sammy Teusch, is currently all over the Internet. Let’s understand the reason behind it.

On May 5, the 10-year-old Sammy Teusch from Greenfield, Indiana took his own life, leaving everybody with concussion. According to his family, he was in the 4th class and was severely bullied at his Greenfield Intermediate school, reported WTHR.

Sammy had been experiencing bullying since he was in elementary school. His parents stated that they complained to the school authorities about their son being bullied over 20 times previously.

According to the deceased’s parents, the Greenfield School failed to take required and appropriate steps to ensure the safety of the students studying there.

Sammy’s parents added that the 10-year-old was “bullied till the night he committed suicide.”

However, the Greenfield Intermediate school revoked the claims by stating that neither the parents nor the student himself had reported anything about getting bullied.

The school revealed that they also arranged a counseling session with the 10-year-old and his parents. However, Nichole Teusch and Sam didn’t disclose stuff stating privacy concerns.

Sammy’s Getting Bullied Story

As per Free Press Journal, Sammy’s father, Sam Teusch, added that his son was bullied initially for his glasses and later for his teeth. Sam Teusch added that Sammy was also the victim of physical harassment for a considerable time.

On the school bus, he was bullied to the extent that his glasses were broken. Sam Teusch also mentioned questioning the school authorities about their response.

He told the local news media,” I held him in my arms. I did the thing no father should ever have to do, and any time I close my eyes, it’s all I can see.”

The mother of Sammy, Nichole, said that it was his decision to commit suicide due to incessant bullying. She also mentioned a distressing incident that occurred last week with the boy in the bathroom.

A GoFundMe page was also launched in the memory of the 10-year-old.

The website of Stillinger Family Funeral Home describes the 10-year-old Sammy as a “tremendously loving, laughing, encompassing, and accepting young man.”

It added, “He was quick to make friends, knew no strangers, meant no harm to anyone, never sat still, had the biggest heart along with the best smile. He loved to fish, play video games and play with robots, hike, jump into ponds, be in the great outdoors, and play soccer. At such a young age, he had well traveled across the world and accepted all cultures and ethnicities.”
