150 Railway Stations Awarded FSSAI’s ‘Eat Right’ Tag for Healthy and Clean Food Services

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has certified 150 railway stations and six metro stations across the country as Eat Right Stations. This initiative aims to provide safe, hygienic, and nutritious food options for passengers traveling on India’s vast railway network, enhancing their overall experience.

The process of obtaining the “Eat Right Station” certification involves audits of food vendors, training of food handlers, adherence to hygiene protocols, and promoting awareness for informed food choices. Stations meeting these criteria are awarded the certification, ensuring quality standards for passengers.

Prominent railway stations like New Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Varanasi, along with metro stations in Noida and Kolkata, are among those certified as Eat Right Stations. This initiative not only benefits passengers but also supports food vendors in maintaining credibility, attracting more customers, and improving their livelihoods.

FSSAI’s goal is to extend this certification to all major railway and metro stations, providing safe and healthy food options for every passenger. This nationwide effort is expected to significantly contribute to a healthier India, promoting overall well-being among the populace.
