18 Injured in West Delhi as DTC Bus Collides with Pole

New Delhi, April 11 (IANS) Eighteen people, including the driver and the conductor, sustained injuries after a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus hit a pole in west Delhi’s Rajouri Garden area on Thursday, police said. The incident took place at 11:40 a.m. when the bus collided with a roadside pole.

According to the police, a PCR call was received at Rajouri Garden police station regarding the accident. Fifteen injured individuals were taken to ESIC Hospital, Basai Darapur, while three others are receiving treatment at DDU Hospital. The fire brigade and PCR vans were also on-site for assistance and evacuation.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, West, Vichitra Veer stated, “An FIR has been registered under applicable sections of the law, and the Crime team has been called for inspection. The cause of the accident will be determined based on the Crime team’s report and mechanical inspection of the vehicle.”

The authorities are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the bus colliding with the pole. The well-being of the injured individuals is a priority, and efforts are being made to ensure they receive the necessary medical care and support.
