187 private school buses in Gurugram fined for safety violations

Gurugram, April 13 (IANS) – The Gurugram Traffic Police and Regional Transport Authority conducted a special inspection of school buses in Gurugram to ensure compliance with traffic regulations. A total of 187 buses were fined for violating Surakshit School Vahan Policy norms, including buses from Rotary Public School and Yaduvanshi Public School.

During the checking drive, DCP Traffic, Virender Vij, stated that 5 teams with a total of 45 people were deployed to inspect documents such as RC, insurance, and pollution certificates of school buses. Additionally, the uniforms of drivers/conductors, permits, licenses, first-aid kits, and fire prevention cylinders were also checked.

The police teams advised bus drivers against using mobile phones while driving and consuming intoxicants to prevent accidents. The enforcement drive was carried out as per the directives of Commissioner of Gurugram Police Vikas Arora, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the safety of school children during transportation.

The inspection aimed to maintain the safety standards of school buses and ensure that all necessary documentation and safety equipment are in place. Violations of the Surakshit School Vahan Policy were addressed through fines to promote adherence to traffic regulations and prioritize the well-being of students.
