2024 DNC Speaker Schedule: Obama, Clintons, Joe Biden Will Speak
The DNC or the Democratic National Convention is just around the corner and follows the Republican convention last month. Post the DNC, it will be 75 days before Election Day.

The Democratic National Convention will start on Monday, August 19, 2024, and will continue until August 22, 2024.
DNC – Where Will It Take Place
There are two venues for the event. The United Center, an arena on the city’s West Side, will host events post-sunset, which will include the prime-time programming and speeches intended for public consumption. The more important events, which will include official party business and meetings, will be hosted at McCormick Place, which is downtown near Lake Michigan, and will happen in the daytime.
DNC Speaker Schedule
The stars of the event will, of course, be Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota. However, it will be attended by President Joe Biden, who is expected to speak as well. However, the full list of the attendees is still not released. The Democratic National Convention committee has only confirmed the participation of Ms. Harris and Mr. Walz.
This is much akin to the Republicans who, during their convention, did not release the speaking schedule until the start of every night’s program. Looking at the earlier DNC events, a number of prominent personalities from within the party hierarchy are expected to address the convention, and it includes governors, members of Congress, and former elected officials.
The DNC will also see three former Presidents also expected to be present and address the convention. However, it is a sort of anticlimax since the party has already nominated Vice President Kamala Harris for president, a process typically reserved for the convention weeks in advance. President Joe Biden is going to make the opening address of the event, and it will be one of his high-profile appearances since leaving the Democratic ticket under pressure.
The high-profile speakers will also include Former President Barack Obama, who is expected to speak on the second day, while former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will also speak at some point. Kamala Harris is expected to address the convention on its final night on August 22, while running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will speak on August 21.
Among the other speakers, Jason Carter will speak on behalf of his grandfather, former President Jimmy Carter. Yusef Salaam, one of the five Black and Latino teenagers wrongly convicted of raping a woman in Central Park in the 1980s. Trump had at that time rolled out ads calling for the state to bring back the death penalty concerning the Central Park rape but avoided calling directly for the death penalty for Salaam and his co-defendants.
The event is expected to be telecast live by major media houses and streaming services like Hulu, Paramount Plus, Peacock, and Max; the DNC YouTube and X channels and various news websites.
