31 killed in road accident in Mali

Bamako, Feb 28 (IANS) – Thirty-one people were tragically killed and 10 others were injured when a bus plunged off a bridge in Mali. The incident took place on Tuesday around 5:00 p.m. local time on the bridge crossing the Bagoe river, as confirmed by the Transport ministry.

The bus was traveling from the southwestern Malian town of Kenieba to Burlina Faso when the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the fatal accident. This information was provided by the ministry in a statement reported by Xinhua news agency.

Road accidents are a prevalent issue in Mali, often attributed to the poor conditions of both roads and vehicles. This latest tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the dangers faced by commuters in the region.
