5 Tips to Maintain an Inverter with Lithium Battery

Your Comprehensive Guide to Buying a Lithium Battery

Even though an inverter with a lithium battery is extremely efficient and requires little to no input to function properly, there are a few things you can do to improve its efficiency even further. So, if you’ve been wondering how you can improve the efficiency of your newly purchased inverter with a lithium battery, we’ll give you a few pointers that will definitely come in handy!

In this article, we will look at a few factors that affect lithium battery powered inverter’s performance and how to ensure that they continue to perform optimally throughout their service life!

1 ∙ Reduce exposure to low or high temperatures

When exposed to temperature variations, an inverter with a lithium battery loses some of its efficiency; therefore, it’s limiting the inverter’s exposure to high temperatures while in use or storage is critical. On the contrary, when charging the batteries, ensure they are not exposed to extreme cold. This will improve lithium battery efficiency overall.

2 ∙ Keep an eye on the charging stage

It is best to avoid exposing the battery to 100% or 0% charge for extended periods because this puts a lot of strain on the lithium battery. To maintain optimal battery performance, use a partial charge to push the batteries up to 80% rather than a full charge; however, if that is not possible, unplug the battery as soon as it is fully charged.

Don’t worry; a lithium battery is excellent at retaining stored energy with minimal power loss, so even if you remove them from charging, it will continue to function optimally when a backup is required.

3 ∙ Keep away from moisture.

An inverter with a lithium battery, like any other electronic device or equipment, is susceptible to moisture. As a result, never store or keep the inverter in an area with a high level of moisture. To ensure maximum efficiency, keep it away from direct sunlight and dark, humid areas.

4 ∙ Prevent mechanical damage

Mechanical damage, such as a puncture, could render the inverter battery inoperable. To avoid such incidents, if you suspect a problem with the battery, do not attempt to remove or open the battery yourself, but rather contact a trained professional who can safely handle and assess the problem without causing any damage to the lithium battery powered inverter.

5. Recognize when a replacement is necessary

All batteries degrade over time for one of two reasons: capacity fading or power fading. If you notice that your battery is no longer storing the amount of energy that it should, this is due to capacity fading. On the other hand, if you notice that power delivery is no longer as optimal as it was when you first got the inverter with a lithium battery, this is due to power fading.

Both of these will continue to degrade the inverter battery until it is no longer functional. So, if you notice any decreases in power or efficiency, it’s time to have your batteries checked or, if necessary, replaced.

Keeping these points in mind will help you maintain your lithium battery and keep them running at peak performance for many years before they need to be replaced.

The efficiency with which a lithium battery operates, on the other hand, is unparalleled. So, if you’re in the market for a new inverter, it’s best to spend a little more and get a home inverter with an integrated lithium battery to get the most bang for your buck.
