60% of Global Digital Transactions Occur in India: V.K. Singh Highlights Modi Government’s Achievements

Jaipur, April 13 (IANS) Bharatiya Janata Party leader General V.K. Singh (Retd) highlighted the achievements of the BJP-led Central government, claiming India’s position among the top five economies globally. He emphasized that 60 per cent of the world’s digital transactions occur in India.

Speaking at a press conference in Jaipur, Gen Singh, the Union Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways and Civil Aviation, refuted Congress’ allegations of Chinese occupation of Indian territory in the past decade. He assured that under PM Modi’s leadership, no such land acquisition has taken place and will not be permitted.

Addressing the issue of PoK merging with India, Gen Singh expressed confidence that it will integrate autonomously. He praised PM Modi’s administration for attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) from 162 countries in 32 sectors, setting new records every year.

The road network expansion under the Modi government over the last decade has significantly benefitted transportation across the nation. Gen Singh noted the increase in national highways from 90,000 km in 2014 to 1.60 lakh km presently, highlighting the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

Emphasizing the growth in airport infrastructure, Gen Singh mentioned the rise from 74 to 148 airports since 2014 and pledged to increase the number to 200 in the near future. He underscored the importance of investing in infrastructure to boost industries and the economy.

Highlighting advancements in mining, railways, and green energy, Gen Singh mentioned ongoing research on hydrogen production in alignment with Japan’s progress. He noted India’s position as a leading exporter of mobile phones and the country’s significant presence in global digital transactions.

Gen Singh concluded by stating, “Digital data is the cheapest in India, allowing even rural residents to engage in social media. Sixty percent of the world’s digital transactions happen here.” India’s current growth rate of 6.8% under PM Modi’s leadership signals hope and strong leadership in the eyes of the world.
