75,000 bookings for 2024 Hyundai Creta, SUVs account for two-thirds of sales
The waiting period for the Hyundai Creta facelift, launched in January, ranges between eight weeks and 20 weeks, depending on the variant. The 2024 Hyundai Creta has seen a surge in bookings, surpassing 75,000 units, with two-thirds of sales now coming from SUVs.
Hyundai Creta is the dominant player in India’s mid-size SUV segment, with the latest facelift version achieving record sales numbers. In February alone, 15,201 units were sold, the highest-ever in a single month. The model has over 10 lakh customers in India, and the new version has bolstered the company’s SUV portfolio to 67 percent penetration.
The 2024 Hyundai Creta offers three engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol motor, a turbo-charged 1.5-litre petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel motor. The updated styling and enhanced features, including the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), have contributed to its success in the market, overshadowing other SUV models in the lineup.
Demand for the upper variants of the latest Creta is higher than for entry-level variants, with a majority opting for petrol engine options. However, 43 percent of buyers are choosing diesel engine variants. The waiting period for the Creta currently ranges from eight to 20 weeks, but Hyundai is working to reduce this waiting time for the popular SUV and other models in its lineup.
The Hyundai Creta faces tough competition from rivals such as the Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Tata Harrier, Mahindra Scorpio-N, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun. The model continues to be a top choice in the mid-size SUV segment, maintaining its position as a preferred option for SUV buyers in the country.
