The actor has spoken about India’s filmmaking journey so far during the launch of the India exhibit at Cannes on Wednesday. “I feel we have a long way to go as a country, I feel really proud to be here as an Indian and to be representing the country. But when we look back at 75 Years of Cannes, I have said earlier also that there have been only a handful of Indian films, and Indian talent that have been able to make it and I feel like collectively as a nation today we have it,”

The India Pavillion at the “Cannes Film Festival” opened today, May 18. Deepika Padukone, R. Madhavan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, AR Rahman, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Pooja Hegde were among the celebrities who attended the launch. At the opening, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Thakur, headed the Indian delegation.
