Earth Day is an annual United Nations recognized day observed together by 192 countries all around on 22 April. Earth Day is celebrated with the aim of protecting the life-giving priceless wealth of the earth and spreading awareness about it. For decades, we humans have been using the precious wealth of the earth. Mainly keeping in mind the deteriorating nature of the environment, governments around the world decided to observe Earth Day, also known as Mother Earth Day. It draws attention to the environment and promotes conservation and sustainability to avoid dangers like global warming and climate change.
This day was first celebrated in 1970 and then gradually a network progressed and it was decided to celebrate it by many countries globally. In 1969, in a press conference organized by UNESCO, it was decided to celebrate this for the first time on March 21, 1970, but later some changes were made and it was decided to celebrate it on 22 April. This day mainly encourages people to pay attention to environmental issues.
