Two road rage incidents in Ghaziabad within a week: Victims hit by car and dragged on bonnet

In a case of second road rage incident in a week, a man was hit by a car and dragged on its bonnet for around three kms in Ghaziabad on Sunday. The video of the incident went viral, highlighting the increasing cases of traffic violations in the district.

According to Ghaziabad Police, the victim’s car was involved in an accident with another car, leading to the confrontation between the victim, Ramesh Singh, and the driver, Tarang Jain. When Ramesh tried to stop the car, Tarang drove off, prompting Ramesh to jump on the bonnet to save himself. Tarang continued to drive with Ramesh on the bonnet until passing vehicles intervened.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Swatantra Kumar Singh, stated that Tarang has been booked under relevant sections of the IPC and sent to jail. This incident follows another road rage case where a person evaded cops by driving rashly in reverse on a busy road, leading to his arrest and judicial custody.

The video of the second incident shows a Hyundai i20 car fleeing in reverse to evade police on Hindon Elevated Road. Despite initial escape, the accused, identified as Kuldeep Sharma, was tracked down and arrested. Dinesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, confirmed the seizure of the vehicle and the accused being sent to judicial custody. These incidents shed light on the need for stricter enforcement of traffic rules in Ghaziabad.
