Yamaha Motor India increases support as official sponsor for Yamaha MotoGP team

India Yamaha Motor has officially become a sponsor of the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team for the upcoming season. This move solidifies Yamaha India’s relationship with the factory MotoGP team for the 2024 season, following the success of the inaugural Indian GP last year. MotoGP will make its return this year.

Under the sponsorship agreement, the factory Yamaha YZR-M1 MotoGP bikes will carry Yamaha India’s ‘The Call of the Blue’ tagline on the front cowls of riders Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins’ race bikes. This branding aims to reignite the connection with young customers in India and focus on the premium motorcycle and scooter segment, shifting away from entry-level commuters.

Chairman Eishin Chihana expressed enthusiasm about the sponsorship, stating that Yamaha Motor India is thrilled to be a sponsor for the 2024 season. The collaboration strengthens the bond with MotoGP and represents a new phase of aspiration and enthusiasm for Yamaha enthusiasts in India. The prominent ‘The Call of the Blue’ logo on the race bikes aims to ignite enthusiasm among young Indian fans.

Yamaha has a rich history in MotoGP with over 500 Grand Prix wins and has been a top factory team in the championship. The team has supported legends like Valentino Rossi and now Fabio Quartararo. This sponsorship marks Yamaha’s first investment to promote motorsports culture in India, showcasing the company’s technological prowess in racing. The Indian GP is set to take place in September at the Buddh International Circuit.
