Traffic Police in Noida take action against repeat rule violators on hit-list

As many as 12,482 vehicles in Noida have violated traffic rules 10 times or more, with 1,042 vehicles breaking the rules 30 times or more, according to Noida Traffic Police data. The department has started seizing vehicles using the Integrated Security Traffic Management System (ISTMS) based on a hit list of repeat offenders.

Noida Traffic Police has begun identifying vehicles that have violated traffic rules multiple times using ISTMS. The hit list includes vehicles with more than 50 violations and unpaid fines. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumar Yadav stated that 246 vehicles in Gautam Budh Nagar are on the hit list and will be targeted for immediate action.

The ISTMS alerted Noida Traffic Police about eight vehicles on Sunday and continued to flag violations on Monday, resulting in the seizure of a two-wheeler with a significant pending fine. The department has issued a total of 95,229 e-fines for speeding, 75,520 for red-light violations, and 475 for drunk driving in 2023. Repeat offenders make up a significant portion of these violations.

The crackdown on repeat traffic offenders in Noida highlights the authorities’ commitment to ensuring road safety and enforcing traffic regulations. With the ISTMS technology in place, the police are actively monitoring and taking action against those who repeatedly violate traffic rules, contributing to a safer road environment for all commuters.
