Tata Motors and Tamil Nadu government ink MoU for ₹9,000 crore investment in new facility

In a significant development, Tata Motors Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu to establish a new manufacturing facility in the state with an investment of ₹9,000 crore. The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. MK Stalin, and senior officials from both entities, as per a statement by the automaker.

The details of what will be produced at the new facility are yet to be announced by Tata Motors. The company, known for its wide range of passenger and commercial vehicles, including electric vehicles, recently disclosed its plans to segregate its passenger and commercial vehicle businesses into two separate listed companies. Tata Motors already operates manufacturing facilities across various locations in India and internationally.
