Mahindra Thar 5-door set to be officially unveiled on 15th August

Mahindra is all set to unveil the 5-door version of the Thar on 15th August, after two years of development. This new model will feature cosmetic changes and extended wheelbase to accommodate rear doors, enhancing practicality. The SUV will also have updated design elements and new features compared to the 3-door version.

The 5-door Thar will sport new LED headlights and Daytime Running Lamps, along with a revised grille and LED tail lamps. It may offer a fixed metal top alternative to the existing convertible soft top and fixed hard top options. The SUV will also come with new alloy wheels and modern interiors, including a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, and an electric sunroof.

Under the hood, the Thar 5-door will be available with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. Both engine options can be paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Additionally, the SUV is expected to feature rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive powertrain options for enhanced off-road capabilities.

This new variant of the popular Thar model is anticipated to offer improved practicality and versatility while retaining the rugged charm and off-road capabilities that have made the Thar a favorite among enthusiasts. With its scheduled unveiling on Independence Day, Mahindra aims to continue its tradition of introducing exciting vehicles during the national holiday period.
