AAP announces two more candidates for the upcoming Punjab elections

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced two new candidates for the Lok Sabha polls in Punjab. Raj Kumar Chabbewal will be contesting from Hoshiarpur, and Malvinder Singh Kang will be contesting from Anandpur Sahib. Chabbewal, a prominent Dalit leader, had previously contested from Hoshiarpur in 2019 but lost to the BJP’s Som Parkash.

In the first list of candidates, the AAP has fielded five Cabinet ministers, a sitting MP, a former Congress MLA, and a Punjabi artist for the upcoming polls in Punjab. The state is set to go to polls on June 1, and the AAP is gearing up by announcing their candidates early on.

In the previous Lok Sabha polls, Punjab recorded a voter turnout of 65.96%. With a total of 2,12,71,246 voters in the state, including men, women, and transgender voters, a total of 24,433 polling stations have been set up for the 13 Parliamentary seats. The Chief Electoral Officer, Sibin C., is overseeing the preparations for the polls in Punjab.
