AAP leader Sanjay Singh meets with Kharge, discusses common manifesto for INDIA bloc

New Delhi, April 14 (IANS) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh met with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to discuss the formulation of a common minimum program within the INDIA bloc. The meeting lasted more than 20 minutes and addressed key areas of collaboration between the parties.

During a press briefing after the meeting at Kharge’s residence in Delhi, Sanjay Singh highlighted the discussions, stating, “We deliberated on how all parties within the INDIA bloc could collaborate to formulate a common minimum program. Additionally, we addressed concerns regarding the misuse of agencies against the opposition and emphasized the importance of safeguarding the constitution.”

The meeting also focused on developing a common manifesto, with Singh expressing optimism about reaching decisions soon. “We are fully committed to supporting leaders within the INDIA bloc wherever necessary to ensure the effective implementation of our shared vision,” he remarked.

In response to the BJP’s manifesto released on Sunday, Singh criticized the lack of accountability in the party’s 10-year report card. He questioned the fulfillment of promises and raised doubts about the credibility of the manifesto in delivering on commitments such as job creation, MSP for farmers, and controlling inflation.

Sanjay Singh was recently released from Tihar Jail on April 2 after the Supreme Court granted him bail in a money laundering case linked to an alleged excise policy scam. The court specified conditions for his release, barring him from making public comments related to the pending case to ensure a fair trial process.

The discussions between AAP and Congress reflect a growing alliance within the INDIA bloc, aiming to strengthen collaboration and form a cohesive strategy for the upcoming political developments. With a focus on unity and effective governance, the parties are working towards a common vision for the benefit of the nation.
