Accident injures Bengal BJP chief as car in his convoy meets with accident

Kolkata, March 3 (IANS) The convoy of West Bengal BJP president Sukanta Majumdar met with an accident on National Highway 12 near Santipur in Nadia district. Majumdar sustained minor injuries but is safe. Two bodyguards also received minor injuries. The accident occurred while the convoy was returning from a football tournament in Dhubulia.

The police reported that the accident happened when a convoy vehicle attempted to overtake a bus. The vehicle in the front row collided with the bus, and then it was hit by a trailing car. Fortunately, despite the collision, Majumdar and his team are reported to be safe.

This incident comes after Majumdar was hospitalized due to being caught in a brawl between police and BJP supporters in Taki, North 24 Parganas district. The scuffle erupted as police tried to prevent Majumdar from approaching Sandeshkhali, an area experiencing unrest. Majumdar initially received treatment at a district hospital before being transferred to a private hospital in Kolkata.

Majumdar’s recent string of events has put a spotlight on the tensions between political groups in the region and the challenges faced by public figures in navigating such situations. The safety and security of leaders and their teams continue to be a concern in the volatile political landscape of West Bengal.
