Police consider the 20-month-old lady fell from the rear door of a Toyota Prius earlier than being hit by a Peugeot in Accrington at 15:00 BST on Saturday.

Two native males aged 32 and 29, considered the driving force and a passenger of the Prius, have been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and are in custody.

The kid was taken to Manchester Youngsters’s Hospital for therapy for head accidents.

The Peugeot driver, a girl in her 50s, was not injured within the crash on the junction of Eastgate and the exit to Eastgate Retail Park, and has not been arrested.
