Activa and Shine 125 contribute to Honda’s 12% growth in FY’24

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has reported a 12% year-on-year growth in sales for FY’24, with a total of 48,93,522 units sold. In March’24, the company sold 3,86,455 units, including domestic sales of 3,58,151 units and exports of 28,304 units, marking an 81% growth in domestic sales and a 95% growth in exports over the previous year.

During FY’24, Honda introduced new products like the SP160 and Dio 125, expanding their lineup. The SP160, priced between ₹1.18 lakh and ₹1.22 lakh, targets sporty commuters, while the Dio 125, priced between ₹83,400 and ₹92,300, caters to the 125 cc scooter segment after Activa.

Honda also launched special editions like Activa Limited Edition and Repsol Editions of Hornet 2.0 and Dio 125, in addition to making its lineup compliant with BS6 Stage 2 emission norms. The brand introduced OBD-2 compliant models for various bikes, including Shine 125, SP125, and Hornet 2.0.

In the premium segment, Honda showcased the XL750 Transalp and NX500 models, alongside the Gold Wing Tour flagship motorcycle and CB350 retro classic bike. Special editions like H’ness CB350 and CB350RS in Legacy Edition and New Hue Edition were also unveiled during FY’24, with CB300F and CB300R made OBD2 compliant.

To strengthen customer trust, Honda introduced the ‘Extended Warranty Plus (EW Plus)’ program, offering 3 years standard + 7 years optional extended warranty on all scooter and motorcycle models up to the 250cc segment. Special warranty programs were also introduced for BigWing customers to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. The Japanese manufacturer continues to innovate and expand its offerings in the Indian two-wheeler market.
