Actor-filmmaker Amitabh Dayal passes away at 51 in Mumbai

Amitabh Dayal, an actor and filmmaker, passed away after suffering a heart attack in Mumbai on Wednesday. He was 51 years old. His wife and producer Mrunalinni Patil confirmed the news of his death.

Mrinalini informed the press that her husband had died at 4:30 am today, after suffering a massive heart attack January 17th. She also mentioned how he tested positive for Covid-19 but later proved negative in tests.

He went on to add that the funeral would be held in Mumbai. Since Dayal’s family is from Chhatisgarh, Patil has waited for her late husband’s relatives to arrive so they can pay their last respects before he goes into eternal rest.

The last post on Instagram from Amitabh Dayal is a video he shot in the hospital. The short clip shows him giving an inspiring message to those who are struggling, encouraging them not give up.

In addition to appearing alongside Big B in Virrudh, Amitabh Dayal worked with late actor Om Puri on Kagaar: Life On The Edge and featured prominently for Raj Babbar’s Dhuaan and Rangdari.
