Adani Green Energy completes 1,000 MW of 30,000 MW Gujarat renewable energy park

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has operationalised 1,000 MW solar energy capacity at the 30,000 MW renewable energy park in Khavda, Gujarat. This achievement marks the fastest greenfield solar capacity addition in India’s renewable sector. AGEL aims to reach 45,000 MW by 2030.

The company delivered 1,000 MW in less than a year of starting work at the Khavda RE park, installing about 2.4 million solar modules. AGEL’s commitment to India’s 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity goal by 2030 is highlighted by this rapid progress.

The 30,000 MW RE plant covers 538 sq km of barren land, equivalent to five times the size of Paris, and is expected to be completed in five years, creating 15,200 green jobs. Innovative solutions such as waterless cleaning robots will be used to increase energy output and conserve water in the arid Kutch region.

Adani Group Founder and Chairman Gautam Adani plans to invest $100 billion in India’s green energy transition over the next decade, with a target of 10 GW solar manufacturing capacity by 2027. AGEL conducted various studies and assessments before beginning the development of the site, emphasizing thorough preparation for sustainable practices.
