Ahead of festival season, Noida police hold a meeting with religious leaders

With the upcoming festivities of Ramzan and Navratri, the Noida Police commissioner Laxmi Singh conducted a meeting with the resident welfare association members as well as religious leaders from every zone to make sure that all the festivals are observed peacefully.

The Navratri festivities i.e nine days have begun from yesterday and the Ramzan has started today. As per the officials, the meeting was held in Sector-108 with the police commissioner. She also inspected many religious sites in the area. “We inspected all religious places in the district expecting heavy footfall during the festive season and passed necessary directives to concerned officials. We told people that if anyone makes objectionable remarks against any religion, caste, or person, incites religious sentiments, or attempts to spread propaganda, they will face strict legal action,” she stated.
She further instructed that all the deputy commissioners of police from every zone should increase patrolling in the major areas and religious sites in their jurisdiction. “We will ensure tight security in crowded places by deploying adequate personnel on duty and monitor the areas with the help of CCTV cameras. In addition, we have directed traffic officers to ensure that traffic around such locations remains smooth during the festivals,” said the officer.
The police stated in their statement that meetings like these need to be held consistently in order to maintain peace and harmony. It is police officers and the public’s responsibility to abide by the law and order in the area. Everyone who was part of the meeting was told not to believe in any nuisance and must report such activities immediately. Plus, the public should also not organise any events without permission from the police in the next coming days.
