AICC’s Venugopal to visit Hyderabad for discussions on finalizing three LS candidates

AICC General Secretary to Meet with Telangana CM to Finalize Lok Sabha Candidates

Hyderabad, April 14 (IANS) AICC general secretary (organisation) K. C. Venugopal is set to arrive in Hyderabad for discussions with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and other party leaders to finalize candidates for the remaining three Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Venugopal will meet with key leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and AICC in-charge Deepa Dasmunshi, on Sunday evening to discuss the delayed announcement of candidates for Khammam, Karimnagar, and Hyderabad constituencies.

The delay in announcing candidates for the three seats is reportedly due to multiple contenders, with political complexities in play. In Khammam, Deputy CM Vikramarka’s wife Nandini is among the aspirants, adding to the decision-making challenge for the party leadership.

Similarly, in Karimnagar, the BJP general secretary Bandi Sanjay Kumar is seeking re-election, further complicating the candidate selection process for the Congress.

Discussions between Revanth Reddy, Vikramarka, and Dasmunshi have already taken place, and the final decision on the candidates is expected after Venugopal’s meeting with state leaders on Sunday.

Apart from finalizing candidates, Venugopal is also likely to discuss the party’s election strategy, campaign issues, and the implementation of promises made in the national manifesto. The party is planning to hold 50 public meetings across the state in the run-up to the May 13 elections.

With Lok Sabha polls in Telangana scheduled for May 13, the upcoming meeting is crucial in shaping the Congress party’s electoral strategy in the state. Stay tuned for more updates on the candidate selection process and campaign planning as the election date approaches.
