Alexa Nikolas Criticizes “It Ends With Us” Movie for Including Music by Her Alleged Abuser Mike Milosh
On August 20, 2024, former actress and YouTuber Alexa Nikolas took to Instagram to express her outrage over the inclusion of a song by her alleged groomer in the soundtrack of the upcoming movie “It Ends With Us.”
The film, starring and produced by Blake Lively, has already faced heavy criticism from fans, but Nikolas’ comments have added a new layer of controversy.
Alexa Nikolas Calls Out Blake Lively
Nikolas specifically called out Lively and the film’s production team in her post, saying,
“I can’t say enough how disappointed I am in @blakelively and @itendswithusmovie. Not only has your rollout of this film been a complete disaster, but you also included my known abuser/groomer’s music in your film.”
Though she did not directly name the individual, it is widely speculated that she was referring to her ex-husband, Canadian electronic musician Mike Milosh. Nikolas, who married Milosh at 19, has accused him of grooming and abuse dating back to when she was just 16 years old.
In 2021, Nikolas filed a lawsuit against Milosh, alleging sexual assault, domestic violence, and emotional distress.
The lawsuit detailed how their relationship began through online communication when she was a minor, eventually leading to what she describes as coercive behaviour when she reached adulthood.
The case was later dropped in 2022, but Milosh counter-sued for defamation. His claims were eventually dismissed by a Los Angeles court in 2023.
Nikolas’ post also criticized the film’s creators for failing to acknowledge her past lawsuit against Milosh.
“I had to take on the emotional labor of exposing Rhye [Milosh’s music project] with evidence,” she wrote. “It was a very public lawsuit that goes into great detail about what he did to me. Shame on this film.”
The controversy surrounding Milosh and Nikolas dates back years. Nikolas has previously accused him of financial exploitation, physical assault, and gaslighting during their four-year marriage.
She has claimed that some of Milosh’s songs, such as “Woman” and “Major Minor Love,” were inspired by their tumultuous relationship.
Despite these serious allegations, Milosh has consistently denied any wrongdoing, labeling her accusations as “revisionist fiction.”
This latest controversy highlights the ongoing struggle many survivors face when trying to reclaim their narrative in the face of public scrutiny.
The inclusion of Milosh’s music in “It Ends With Us” raises questions about the industry’s accountability and the ethical responsibility filmmakers have when curating their projects.
With the film already mired in backlash, Alexa Nikolas’ statements have only intensified the conversation surrounding its release.
