Ali Fazal Reveals the Inspiration Behind Guddu Pandit’s Affection for Eggs in ‘Mirzapur’

Mumbai, April 1 (IANS) Actor Ali Fazal recently shared the inspiration behind one of his scenes in the popular series ‘Mirzapur’. The scene was influenced by a video from the film ‘Angel Heart’ starring Robert De Niro and Mickey Rourke where De Niro peels an egg. In ‘Mirzapur’, Ali’s character, Guddu, is on a heavy protein diet as he is a bodybuilder, making eggs his primary protein source.

In the series, Guddu seeks revenge after the Tripathi family kills his younger brother and wife. In the second season, Guddu takes revenge by killing Munna Tripathi, the man responsible for his family’s death. Ali, a fan of De Niro, shared a throwback picture with the Hollywood legend, recalling how shy he was to meet his admired personalities in a room, and giving credit to actress Dia Mirza for introducing him to De Niro.

Ali expressed his gratitude to Dia Mirza for enabling him to meet De Niro, admitting his social awkwardness when not in a character. The actor shared the memorable moment with De Niro, where the Hollywood star signed an autograph for him. Ali reminisced about the meeting, emphasizing his admiration for De Niro and his appreciation for the opportunity to meet him.
