Amandeep Extends Lead Over Gaurika in 5th Leg of WPGT

Gurugram, March 7 (IANS) – Amandeep Drall regained her lead in the Women’s Pro Golf Tour after a shaky start in the third round at the Golden Greens Golf Club. With a four-shot lead over Gaurika Bishnoi, Amandeep is at 9-under 207, while Gaurika is at 5-under 211.

Despite opening with three bogeys, Amandeep managed to steady herself and maintain her lead. Khushi Khanijau moved to third place at 4-under 212, with the best card of the day at the event, which carries a purse of Rs. 19 lakhs.

During the four-day event, Amandeep shot 73, with two birdies after her initial bogeys. Meanwhile, Gaurika, who had a strong second day with a score of 66, struggled on the back nine with three bogeys for a 75. As a result, she fell four shots behind Amandeep.

Despite being tied after the front nine, Gaurika lost ground as Amandeep pulled ahead with a birdie on the back nine. Amandeep managed to avoid further bogeys and even picked up birdies on the ninth and 15th holes, solidifying her lead over Gaurika.

In the standings, Hitaashee Bakshi was fourth at even par 216, while Neha Tripathi and Seher Atwal were tied fifth at 3-over 219. Ridhima Dilawari was seventh at 4-over 220, with Shagun Narain in eighth at 5-over 221.

Amateur Lavanya Jadon was tied ninth with Agrima Manral, Ananya Garg, and Jahaanvie Walia at 7-over 223. The competition at the Golden Greens Golf Club continues as Amandeep looks to maintain her lead and secure the victory.
