Ambadad Danve refutes media reports as incorrect and baseless on joining BJP

Mumbai, March 30 (IANS) The Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray leader and Maharashtra Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Ambadas Danve dismissed media reports claiming he was joining the BJP as ‘incorrect’ and ‘baseless’. Danve stated that the rumors were false and that he has no intention of leaving his party.

Speaking to media persons at his Mumbai residence, Danve declared, “The media reports are incorrect and baseless. There is no truth in it. I cannot think of quitting my party.” He also mentioned his plans to file a defamation case against the TV channel that published the false news regarding his alleged switch to the BJP.

Addressing the alleged offer from the MahaYuti alliance, which includes the BJP, Shinde faction, and Ajit Pawar group, Danve clarified that no such proposition has been made to him. Emphasizing his commitment to the Shiv Sena’s ideals, he vowed to continue his fight based on the principles laid out by party founder Balasaheb Thackeray.

The speculation arose following Danve’s reported dissatisfaction with the party’s decision to nominate former MP Chandrakant Khaire for the Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) seat, as he had expressed his interest in contesting from the constituency. Despite the nomination of Khaire, Danve stated that he will support the party’s victory and work towards its success in the upcoming elections.

Asserting his dedication to the Shiv Sena and its leaders, Danve reiterated his commitment to the party’s triumph in the general elections. He highlighted the support for Shiv Sena in Sambhajinagar and criticized the ruling coalition for neglecting water scarcity issues in Maharashtra, predicting an “earthquake” on June 4 in the state’s political landscape.

In conclusion, Danve affirmed his loyalty as a Shiv Sena member and vowed to contribute his full effort towards securing the party’s victory in the upcoming elections, dismissing the rumors of his potential defection to the BJP as unsubstantiated.–IANS sj/dan
