Amid Amul Vs Nandini Row, Rahul Gandhi Calls Nandini Ice Cream, ‘Karnataka’s Pride’ and Buys It

Amid the ongoing Amul vs. Nandini controversy in the election-bound state of Karnataka, CONGRESS leader Rahul Gandhi declared ‘Nandini’ to be “Karnataka’s pride” on Sunday by purchasing a Nandini ice cream. As the “best” trademark brand of the Karnataka Milk Federation, the former Wayanad MP also referred to Nandini.

On Sunday morning, Rahul Gandhi paid a visit to Nandini Milk Parlour in JP Nagar, Bengaluru, accompanied by the president of the Karnataka Congress, DK Shivakumar, and the general secretary, KC Venugopal. Gandhi’s action was in response to state party officials endorsing a regional dairy brand amid growing worries over its takeover by Gujarat’s Amul brand.

On Twitter, Rahul Gandhi posted a photo of himself along with the message, “Karnataka’s Pride – NANDINI is the best!”

In response to Gandhi’s tweet, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Tejasvi Surya from Karnataka used the microblogging platform to ask the Congressman to get involved in Kerala to ensure the smooth selling of Nandini items.

On Twitter, Surya expressed his happiness that Rahul Gandhi believes Nandini is the finest candidate. There is no question in my mind. He asks him to step in and facilitate the selling of Nandini in Kerala. Otherwise, this will just be another hoax. eagerly awaiting Rahul Gandhi to offer free access to Nandini whenever he wants in Kerala.

Amul’s announcement that it will start selling its milk products in Bengaluru sparked a dispute between Nandini and Amul. The saffron party was charged with attempting to destroy Nandini by enabling Amul entry into Karnataka by the opposing parties in that state, particularly the Congress and JD(S).

Basavraj Bommai, the chief minister of Karnataka, refuted all of the opposition parties’ claims and asserted that Amul did not endanger Nandini.
