Amitabh Bachchan the megastar is an icon and when his resounding baritone voice says a dialogue, it immediately becomes a hit among his fans. So let us start from the first film which established Amitabh Bachchan as the angry young man image.

1. ‘Zanjir’ –‘Jab tak baithne ko na kaha jaaye sharafat se khade raho. Yeh police station hai tumhare baap ka ghar nahi.’

Indian audience who were accustomed to the soft and chocolaty heroes for the first time saw a character that was ready to take on the corrupt system, no matter its cost. 2. ‘Shahenshah’- ‘Rishte main hum tumhare baap hote hain, naam hai Shahenshah’

This film though a box office failure is best known for the above dialogues. Amitabh is a local Robin Hood , an enforcer who doles out justice instantly and without any partiality.

3.‘Deewar’ –‘Aaj mere paas building hai, property hai, bank balance hai, bangla hai, gaadi hai..kya hai kya hai tumhare pass?’

It was an iconic scene under the same bridge where the two brothers, one a police officer and another a crook had started their journey of life. The answer to this question, ‘Mere Paas Ma Hai ‘ till wets the eyes of many.

4. ‘Kabhie Kabhie’-‘Kabhi kabhie mere dil mein khayal aata hai, ki zindagi teri zulfon ki narm chhaon mein guzarne paati to shadab ho bhi sakti thi.’

Another iconic film from the house of Yash Chopra the film has Amitabh essaying the role of a failed lover who is also a poet. The above lines are from a poem in the film recited by Big B which depicts the emotions going on in the mind of the failed poet.

5. ‘Don’ ‘Don ka intezaar toh gyarah mulkon ki police kar rahi hai. Lekin Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahin, naamumkin hai’

Big B is at his arrogant best even when he is surrounded by cops after being trapped by Helen Don delivers this dialogue to Kamini (played by Helen).
