Amitabh Bhattacharya views lyrics as serving the script

Mumbai, April 2 (IANS) Amitabh Bhattacharya, the renowned lyricist, shared insights on his journey to success in the music industry. He emphasized the importance of not getting too attached to his work and understanding the collaborative nature of creating music for films.

Amitabh revealed on The Music Podcast, “If something which is close to your heart gets changed or gets scrapped…it does hurt. But, I realised that this is a process and I can’t get too attached.” He learned that his lyrics must serve the script and contribute to the larger narrative in filmmaking.

Working with different music composers like Amit Trivedi, Pritam, and Vishal-Shekhar, Amitabh experienced the evolution of his approach towards songwriting. He acknowledged that the process of collaboration and adaptation has been essential in his growth as a lyricist.
