An investigation into a potential data breach of customers: India’s tech company boAt

Homegrown audio and wearable brand boAt is currently investigating a potential data breach involving its customer information. Reports have surfaced claiming that the cyber breach may have compromised the data of over 7.5 million customers. The company has responded to these claims and stated that it is taking the matter seriously.

A spokesperson for boAt told IANS, “boAt is aware of recent claims regarding a potential data leak involving customer information.” The company has assured that safeguarding customer data is a top priority and has launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter.

Last year, boAt dominated the Indian true wearable stereo (TWS) market with a 39 per cent year-on-year growth. The company secured the top spot for the fourth consecutive year, thanks to its affordable offerings and commitment to local manufacturing. Despite the challenges posed by the data breach allegations, boAt remains a strong player in the audio and wearable industry.
