The prominent business leader shared his excitement by stating, “Big day for me; received my ScorpioN…. Need a good name for it…Recommendations welcome!”. The vehicle was adorned in a striking Red Rage paint scheme, but the specific variant chosen by Mr. Mahindra remains undisclosed. This isn’t the first Mahindra vehicle in his possession, as he previously owned the first-generation Scorpio SUV, along with other models like the Alturas G4, TUV300 Plus, Bolero Invader, and TUV300.
Industry experts speculate that Anand Mahindra likely opted for the top-of-the-line diesel automatic variant equipped with four-wheel drive capabilities. The Scorpio N is also available with a turbo petrol engine, known for its smooth and powerful performance, although the diesel engine is preferred for its compatibility with the four-wheel drive system.
In terms of specifications, the Scorpio N offers a 2.2-litre diesel engine in two power options: 132 Ps with 300 Nm of torque for the base variant and 175 Ps with 370 Nm (or 400 Nm with the automatic gearbox) for higher trims. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine delivers 203 Ps and 370 Nm of torque (or 380 Nm with the automatic gearbox).
The price range for the Scorpio N starts from ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to ₹23.90 lakh (ex-showroom), with a waiting period of over a year for most variants. Mahindra manufactures the Scorpio N at its Chakan factory near Pune, offering it as either an 8-seater or a 7-seater with captain chairs for the second row.
