Ankita Raina claims doubles title at ITF Women’s Open but falls in singles semifinals

Gurugram, March 2 (IANS) India’s Ankita Raina clinched the Women’s Doubles title but fell short in the Singles semifinals of the ITF Women’s Open, Gurugram W35 on a rain-hit Saturday. The top seeds were upset in the singles draw, adding to the drama.

In the singles semifinals, top seed Dalila Jakupovic of Slovenia was defeated by Justina Mikulskyte of Lithuania in a hard-fought three-setter, while second seed Ankita Raina lost to unseeded Yeonwoo Ku from Korea. Raina then went on to win the Women’s Doubles title with partner Zhibek Kulambayeva.
