Anne Norton and UPenn Lost Investors and Financial Support For Her Antisemitic Tweets: Full Deets Here

Anne Norton is a political science professor who is linked with UPenn or the University of Pennsylvania. Recently, Anne Norton garnered huge popularity when her antisemitic posts gained traction on the internet and went viral.

A nonprofit group first highlighted her posts on December 8, Friday on X, formerly Twitter by the account username, @StopAntisemites. Allegedly, Anne Norton liked a tweet that claimed, “Playing the victim is what Jews are best at.” However, the same account also shared a picture on X where Anne Norton said to a netizen that the Hamas captors are getting treatment decently.

Anne Norton Losing Financial Support

When the images went viral on Twitter, netizens gave mixed reactions to firing Anne Norton from the University of Pennsylvania. Due to Norton’s antisemitism, Henry Jackson and his spouse Stacey, the investors of Norton, said that they wished to withdraw funding.

Henry Jackson is the CEO and co-founder of a British private equity firm named OpCapita LLP. Moreover, he is an alumnus of the same University in which Norton is teaching. His wife Stacey is a singer and songwriter.

Jackson couple who wish to withdraw funding Norton has been supporting her via the President’s Distinguished Professorship. They have been providing her with financial support since 2018. Moreover, they said in a post, “We are deeply concerned to learn of the comments made by Professor Anne Norton on social media that appear to endorse hatred and violence. We accept that Professor Norton has made these remarks in a personal capacity. Nevertheless, we strongly condemn any form of racism or antisemitism.”

Before Jackson couples, the university lost its other investors as well in the wake of the Israel-Hamas conflict. The investors who pulled out are hedge funder David Magerman, former U.S. Ambassador Jon Huntsman; Apollo Management CEO Marc Rowan; and the billionaire founder of AQR Capital Management, Clifford Asness among others.

Alleged Antisemitic Activities of Anne Norton on Social Media

The X handle @StopAntisemites last week revealed Anne liked a tweet by @nowun_, involving herself in anti-Jewish acts. The post read: “Three Palestinian students were shot, but no Jewish student was ever shot, and yet they keep pushing the false premise that the Jewish students are the ones at risk…Playing the victim is what Jews are best at.” Moreover, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania called a Jewish woman getting r*ped as “alleged.”

Until now such comments could be heard from Norton about defunding. A spokesperson from UPenn was also restricted from giving statements emphasizing that the matter was personal. It is a shocking thing to reveal that on change.org, a petition is signed by netizens demanding her termination from the University.
