Anupam Kher Learns Swimming and Suffers Shoulder Injury on ‘Vijay 69’ Set

Mumbai, Feb 29 (IANS) Veteran actor Anupam Kher’s upcoming film ‘Vijay 69’ showcases his dedication as he learned swimming last year for his role as a 69-year-old triathlon athlete. With just 3 days of shooting left, he suffered a shoulder injury during the filming process.

Speaking at the Next on Netflix event in Mumbai, Kher shared, “When I heard the story of this film, I didn’t know how to swim. I learned swimming last year and it’s one of my achievements like it’s an achievement for my character.” Despite being in the industry for over 40 years, he believes ‘Vijay 69’ is among his top 5 films, calling it inspiring for many.

The actor, known for his incredible body of work with over 540 films, expressed pride in the final product of ‘Vijay 69’. He mentioned, “I have done 540 films in my career, and this one definitely finds a place in the top 5 films in my filmography, trust me because I’ve seen the film.” Kher’s commitment to the role led to a shoulder injury, causing a temporary halt in the filming schedule.

‘Vijay 69’, produced by YRF entertainment and directed by Akshay Roy, is set to be released on Netflix soon. This collaboration between Indian studio giant YRF and Netflix promises to deliver a powerful and inspiring narrative to the audience.
