Aprilia Tuareg 660 Adventure Tourer Set to Launch in India on April 16

In a surprise launch, Aprilia India has hinted at the arrival of the Tuareg 660 adventure tourer. The middleweight ADV was recently listed on the company website with prices starting from ₹18.85 lakh, going up to ₹19.16 lakh. The Tuareg 660 will be available in three colours – Atreides Black, Canyon Sand, and Evocative Dakar Podium.

The upcoming Aprilia Tuareg 660 will cater to the premium segment and will compete with other adventure tourers like Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, Triumph Tiger 900, Honda XL750 Transalp, and BMW F 850 GS. It is expected to be launched in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).

The Tuareg 660 shares the same 659 cc parallel-twin motor as the RS660 and Tuono 660, but features a different steel tubular frame with a built-in subframe. The engine produces 80 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 70 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Aprilia has retuned the engine for more low and mid-range power delivery.

Designed for off-roading, the Tuareg 660 comes with Kayaba 43 mm fully adjustable USD front forks, a fully adjustable monoshock at the rear, and twin front discs for braking. It also features electronic aids like a 5-inch TFT screen, switchable dual-channel ABS, four riding modes, traction control, engine brake control, and cruise control. The bike will sport wire-spoked wheels with knobby tires.

Weighing 187 kg dry, the Tuareg 660 boasts a fuel tank capacity of 18 liters, a ground clearance of 240 mm, and a seat height of 860 mm. The pricing and availability details are expected to be revealed on April 16, and the bike will be sold through Aprilia’s Motoplex showrooms alongside the RS 457.

The Aprilia Tuareg 660 promises to be a game-changer in the adventure touring segment with its premium features and capabilities. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new addition to Aprilia’s lineup.
