Ashley Cole, Former Arsenal and Chelsea Left-Back, Inducted into Premier League Hall of Fame

London, March 25 (IANS) Former Arsenal and Chelsea defender, Ashley Cole, has been inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame. Cole, widely regarded as the best left-back in Premier League history, won three league titles and was part of the “Invincibles” Arsenal team.

Cole became the 22nd player and manager, eighth former Arsenal alumni, and fourth from Chelsea to be inducted. The former England international made 385 Premier League appearances, contributing to 147 clean sheets, scoring 15 goals, and making 31 assists.

“I’m honored to join the Premier League Hall of Fame. It’s humbling and fulfilling to be rewarded at the end of your career. Winning trophies with Arsenal and Chelsea are amazing memories that will always be with me,” Cole said in a statement. He also represented England 107 times across 13 years.

Cole moved on to Chelsea in 2006 where he won one more league title, before stints at Roma, LA Galaxy, and Derby County. He also claimed a record seventh FA Cup winner’s medal and played a key role in Chelsea’s Champions League triumph in 2012.

Cole’s induction into the Premier League Hall of Fame cements his legacy as one of the greatest defenders in the competition’s history. His impressive career, combining attacking prowess with defensive qualities, has earned him a well-deserved place among footballing legends such as Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer.
