Indian Cyclists Shine at Asian Track Cycling Championship
The Indian contingent shone brightly at the Asian Track Cycling Championship, securing four medals, including two gold, on the fourth day of competition in New Delhi. Indian cyclists displayed exceptional skills and dominance throughout the day.

Harshita Jakhar stood out with a silver medal in the Women’s Junior Individual Pursuit, clocking an impressive time of 2:32.081s. Despite narrowly missing out on the gold, Jakhar’s determination and grit were evident in her remarkable performance.

Jakhar expressed her gratitude, saying, “It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m honoured to have represented my country. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, especially my father who inspired me to be a cyclist.”

In the Para-Cycling events, Arshad Shaikh secured his third gold medal of the championships, while Aryavardhan Cheelampalli claimed silver in the C2 category. Jyoti Gaderiya also impressed with her third gold medal in the Para Women’s Individual Pursuit event.

Suhani Kumari’s 6th-place finish in the Point Race highlighted India’s strong presence in the competition, showcasing the nation’s prowess in track cycling. India’s exceptional achievements on Saturday further solidified its position as a powerhouse in the sport, inspiring a new generation of athletes.
