Femke Bol Breaks World Indoor 400m Record at Dutch Indoor Championships
Apeldoorn (Netherlands), Feb 18 (IANS) – Femke Bol made history at the Dutch Indoor Championships by breaking her own world indoor 400m record, clocking in at 49.24 and retaining her national title. This impressive feat took place at the same location where she set the record-breaking run of 49.26 just 12 months ago.
After starting her season with 49.69 in Metz and improving to 49.63 in Lievin, Bol continued to showcase her exceptional talent by winning her heat in 50.55 on Saturday. Her stellar performance on Sunday saw her leading the 200m mark and finishing with a time of 49.24, marking the sixth time she has dipped under 50 seconds indoors.
Lieke Klaver also made a noteworthy achievement with a personal best time of 50.10, moving her to ninth on the world indoor all-time list. Bol expressed her excitement and gratitude, stating, “I never get used to it, especially with all these people cheering on home soil. It’s a dream come true to run another world record and it’s wonderful to have all these Dutch fans enjoying the most beautiful sport in the world.”
