‘Attack’ Movie Review: Bad Copy Of ‘Universal Soldier’

What happens when a Super Soldier is created to fight the nation’s enemy? John Abraham’s film is all about the exploits of this soldier and the rest of the story is all too evident. John Abraham plays the role of Arjun Shergill, An Indian version of Universal Soldier who is out to pulverize the terrorists who want to harm India. It seems that this is the only role that fits John Abraham if we see his past films. Romeo Akbar Walter, Rocky Handsome, Force 2, Madras Café and Satyameva Jayate (1 and 2), John the hulk is pulverizing his opponents. His latest flick will enamor his fans who want to see cars blown to smithereens and the crunch of breaking bones.

Rehash Of “Universal Soldier”

Much akin to the “Universal Soldier” Arjun has a chip named IRA which brings his paralyzed body into action and does things that no ordinary human being can do. Is storyline similar? Of course, you were warned that it is a copy of “Universal Soldier”. He is the product of a secret laboratory that is tasked to create super-soldiers to fight the nation’s enemies. The laboratory is led by a scientist, played by Rakul Preet Singh who perfects a serum that when injected into the veins of cripples creates a new breed of super soldiers.

Attack |Official Trailer 2 | John A, Jacqueline F, Rakul Preet S |Lakshya Raj Anand| April 1st, 2022

It is Lakshay Raj Anand’s first directorial venture in this sci-fi thriller. “Attack” is a concoction of eastern rhetoric and western-style storytelling. The sci-fi tools and flying cars is a reminder of Rohit Shetty’s films. There are some heavy emotional tear-jerker scenes. Especially, the scene where a paralyzed John Abraham, could only watch in dismay when his mother is robbed or the scene when his love interest is killed in front of him. IN all the flick will endear to a particular section of the audience.
