Atul Subhash’s Estranged Wife, Family Arrested in Bengaluru Techie Suicide Case; Grandfather Appeals for Custody of Grandson

Atul Subhash’s estranged wife, Nikita Singhania, her brother, and her mother have been arrested in connection with the Bengaluru techie’s suicide.

Nikita was arrested in Gurgaon, while her mother and brother were arrested in Prayagraj. The trio was produced before the court, which sent them into judicial custody.

They were trying to obtain anticipatory bail when they were detained by Bengaluru Police.

Atul Subhash’s Wife, Family Arrested in Techie Suicide

According to DCP Whitefield Division, Shivakumar, Atul Subhash’s wife, Nikita Singhania, was arrested from Gurgaon, Haryana. Nikita’s mother, Nisha Singhania, and brother, Anurag Singhania, were arrested in Prayagraj, UP.

They were sent to 14 days of judicial custody. Police are also investigating the role of another relative of Nikita, named Sushil Singhania, and are trying to establish his whereabouts.

The police have designated Nikita as Accused Number 1, her mother Nisha as Accused Number 2, and her brother as Accused Number 3 in the case.

Police have also sought the help of forensic science laboratory (FSL) experts and the cybercrime team to analyze Atul Subhash’s suicide note and retrieve data from various devices.

Meanwhile, Atul ’s father has alleged that the judge hearing Atul’s case was corrupt. He also said that he is worried about the safety of his grandson.

“We don’t know where she has kept our grandson. Has he been killed, or is he alive? We don’t know anything about him. I want my grandson to be with us. I thank the police for arresting the accused. The judge (of the accused) was corrupt. I still haven’t got justice, as a case has been filed against me,” he added.

“A new case has been filed against me in the name of my grandson… We appeal to PM Modi, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, and other leaders to ensure that my grandson comes to me… For a grandfather, his grandson means more than his son… The whole society, people are standing in my support.”

Bengaluru City Police on Friday issued a summons to Nikita Singhania and directed her to present herself before authorities in three days.

It is also reported that Nikita and her family members had approached the Allahabad High Court for anticipatory bail.

Atul Subhash was an engineer in Bengaluru and had ended his life alleging harassment by his wife and in-laws. A case of abetment to suicide has been filed against the estranged wife of Atul and her relatives.
