April 2 is observed worldwide as World Autism Awareness Day. According to autismspeaks.org, Autism is a mental disease in which the child’s brain is not fully developed. It is a mental disorder characterized by amnesia.
Research suggests that autism develops from a combination of genetic and nongenetic, or environmental, influences. Also another research suggests, that Boys are four times more likely to have autism than girls.
This day was first declared by the United Nations General Assembly on April 2, 2007, as World Autism Awareness Day. On this day the members of the United Nations General Assembly work on the awareness of this disease among the people. Once a child is exposed to autism, the mental balance of children is compromised. A person with autism remains lost in his own world, unaware of the outside world. Its side effects are more visible in older people. There are three types of autism: autistic disorder, Asperger’s syndrome, and pervasive developmental disorder.
The symptoms of this disease are visible in children from childhood itself. Children suffering from this disease shy away from mixing with other people. Such children also take a lot of time to give their feedback on any topic. Children with autism have to face many types of language barriers. =
