DySP B Ramachandrappa Suspended for Inappropriate Conduct with Woman
B Ramachandrappa, 58, was the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) of the Madhugiri subdivision in Tumkur, and he was suspended after the inappropriate video came to light.
The 35-second video detailed Ramachandrappa being involved in a sexual act with the woman in the bathroom.
Tumkur SP Ashok KV, in a statement to the media, said:
“A report on the incident was submitted by the SP to the Inspector General of Police (Central Range), and the IGP submitted it to the Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG-IGP) Alok Mohan, who suspended him on Friday evening.”
The inquiry revealed that a woman had approached the Madhugiri police station on Thursday with a few persons to complain. While the group was busy interacting with the investigating officer, Ramachandrappa struck up a friendship with the woman, and the duo was seen walking toward the bathroom situated at the building’s corner.
Sources stated:
“They both entered the bathroom and indulged in an obscene act. On the same occasion, someone placed their mobile on the window of the bathroom and recorded it. However, the recording stopped after 35 seconds as the woman discovered the recording and hid behind Ramachandrappa.”
The sleazy episode did not end there, as the woman in the video filed a complaint against the DySP at the Madhugiri police station on Friday.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) is currently in judicial custody in Madhugiri prison. He was produced before a court in Tumakuru district on Saturday morning and has been charged under different sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including sexual intercourse by a person in authority (BNS 68), sexual harassment (BNS 75), and word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman (BNS 79).
