Bangladeshi cricketer Jaker Ali hospitalized following on-field collision

Chattogram, March 18 (IANS) – Bangladesh uncapped wicket-keeper batter Jaker Ali was injured while fielding in the third ODI against Sri Lanka at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. Jaker Ali, Anamul Haque, Soumya Sarkar, and Mustafizur Rahman all suffered injuries during the match.

Jaker Ali was taken to the hospital after colliding with Anamul Haque while attempting to catch Pramod Madushan off Taskin Ahmed’s bowling. Anamul Haque and Jaker Ali collided, and Jaker had to be carried off the field via stretcher. Soumya Sarkar and Mustafizur Rahman also had to leave the game due to injuries.

Jaker Ali came in as a substitute fielder for Soumya Sarkar, who had a neck injury after hitting the advertising board while fielding. Mustafizur Rahman left the game due to cramping. Tanzid Hasan was selected as a replacement for Sarkar in case of concussions. Umpire Tanvir Ahmed replaced Richard Kettleborough for the third ODI due to heat-related issues.
