Barbra Streisand Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award at SAG Awards

The legendary actress-singer Barbra Streisand was bestowed with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 30th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. Streisand, a proud SAG-AFTRA member for over 60 years, expressed her joy at receiving the prestigious award and dedicated her speech to her fellow actors.

Streisand humorously remarked on the anticipation of receiving the award, stating, “This is such a wonderful award to get because you know in advance you’re going to get it… Anyway, you all know what I mean.” She reminisced about her teenage years dreaming of being an actress, showing gratitude to the actors in the auditorium for bringing her joy through their performances on screen.

Actress Anne Hathaway was moved as Streisand recounted watching her “first crush”, Marlon Brando, on screen in ‘Guys and Dolls’. Streisand praised Brando’s talent and expressed her admiration for his authenticity, wishing she could have been the one he fell in love with in the film.

Jennifer Aniston, a longtime friend of Streisand, had the honor of presenting her with the award. Aniston praised Streisand’s unique talent, stating, “Barbara, that’s all you have to say and you know… It is a once-in-a-lifetime talent and how lucky that it is in our lifetime.” She highlighted the significance of the event being held at the Shrine, where Streisand had her first major concert in 1963.

The evening was filled with heartfelt moments and admiration for Streisand’s contributions to the entertainment industry. With a career spanning over six decades, Barbra Streisand continues to inspire and captivate audiences with her undeniable talent and charm.
