Bautista Agut outplays Safiullin in Barcelona Tennis Match

Former world No. 9 Roberto Bautista Agut secured his 399th tour-level victory by defeating Roman Safiullin 6-3, 7-6(8) at the Barcelona Open. He will face seventh seed Karen Khachanov in the second round as he aims for his 12th ATP Tour crown.

On the same day, Nick Hardt made history by becoming the first Dominican to win an ATP Tour match since 2018. The 23-year-old qualifier defeated Martin Landaluce 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 and will now take on 13th seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry.

Additionally, Brandon Nakashima and Harold Mayot also advanced to the second round. Nakashima set up a clash with second seed Andrey Rublev after beating Daniel Evans 7-6(5), 6-2, while Mayot will face Cameron Norrie following his victory over Pedro Cachin 7-6(5), 2-6, 6-3.
