Ben Affleck didn't want 'relationship on social media' with JLo but caved in

Actor-director Ben Affleck and actress-singer Jennifer Lopez rekindled their romance in 2021 after almost 20 years, but with a twist. Ben didn’t want their relationship to be played out in front of JLo’s massive Instagram following of 253 million. In a new Prime Video documentary, ‘The Greatest Love Story Never Told’, Ben revealed his request, stating, “I don’t want a relationship on social media.”

Despite Ben’s initial reluctance, the couple got engaged in April 2022 and tied the knot in Las Vegas that July. Jennifer Lopez, 54, has occasionally shared photos and videos of Ben on her social media, showing glimpses of their relationship. However, Ben’s discomfort with being in the spotlight is evident.

In the documentary, Ben expressed his struggle with finding a balance, saying, “We’re just two people with different kinds of approaches trying to learn to compromise.” JLo also acknowledged Ben’s uneasiness with being the inspiration behind her new album ‘This Is Me…Now’ and its accompanying visual film ‘This Is Me…Now: A Love Story’.

“I don’t think (Ben) is very comfortable with me doing all of this. But he loves me, he knows I’m an artiste, and he’s gonna support me in every way he can because he knows you can’t stop me from making the music I made, he doesn’t want to stop me. But that doesn’t mean he’s comfortable being the muse,” Jennifer shared in the documentary.
