Woman held for selling stolen SUVs in Bihar, Jharkhand

In a recent operation by Delhi Police, a 37-year-old woman named Lovely Singh was arrested for selling stolen luxury SUVs in Jharkhand and Bihar. She was apprehended from Patliputra in Bihar, leading to the recovery of nine SUVs, including Toyota Fortuner and Hyundai Alcazar.

The arrest of Lovely came after her husband, Govind, was apprehended last year with a stolen Maruti Brezza. Govind disclosed that Lovely was involved in receiving stolen vehicles from Delhi and selling them in Bihar and Jharkhand. After efforts to trace her, she was declared a proclaimed offender by the Court.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Apoorva Gupta stated that Lovely was arrested on April 3 this year and revealed during interrogation that she had a background in working in an insurance company before getting involved in the sale and purchase of stolen vehicles. She and her husband started engaging in this illegal activity after coming into contact with individuals in the industry.

Lovely disclosed that she had been arrested in Ranchi in 2021 for a case involving stolen vehicles and robbery. To evade arrest, she would frequently change her accommodations and establish connections with auto lifters and other receivers of stolen luxury cars to continue her illicit activities.
